About
In 1998, I taught myself Linux, PHP, and HTML before seguing into Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, CSS, Flash, and Javascript. Encouraged by enough of my friends who saw my potential to be a tabloid photo compositor, I surrounded myself with talented professionals, finessing my abilities into something respectable with coursework through the University of California, Santa Barbara's Graphic Design & Visual Communication Professional Certificate Program.
I joined the Global and International Studies Program at the University of California in September 2005 as the Web and Publications Coordinator. I have since developed, designed and maintained web sites at UCSB, and have served as a member of UCSB's Web Standards Group. I have been invited to consult on projects for logo design and web design. Additionally, I have led training workshops in content management, database management, and social media practices. I have been sought out to build websites for local Santa Barbara businesses.
I am a current member of the AIGA, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), the International Webmasters Association, and a big fan of DrupalCampLA and its community. I earned a B.A. with honors in Anthropology (Cultural Emphasis) from UCSB, and have an A.A. with honors in both Cultural Anthropology and Liberal Studies.
My favorite color is green.
