Adobe Kuler

My new favorite time-killin’ toy: kuler.

kuler is a fun *and* useful Flash-based web application from Adobe that allows you to explore and create color theory rule-based themes, and then share them online. You can then download the themes for use in Adobe CS 2 applications. Also, when you sign in with your Adobe ID, you can then save the themes you create for others to download, rate themes of other users, and post comments about other themes.

Pair it up with Nattyware’s Pixie, and you’ll be occupied for DAYS.

Pixie is a small tool that allows you to simply position your mouse pointer on a color on your monitor screen and it will tell you the hex, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV values of that color. You can then use these values to reproduce the selected color in your favorite programs. Pixie will also show the current x y position of your mouse pointer.

Did I mention both are free?
