Also, a couple of weeks ago, Tim and I were both bemoaning the fact that neither one of us had a Big Wheel when growing up.  And, oh, how we both wanted one!  We’re both committed to making sure Sofie will not follow in our Big Wheel-less path.

Leaving on a jet plane

May 18th, 2007

Well, this time tomorrow, Sofie and I will be on a plane heading to KC to visit the familia. T. gets to stay home and sleep through the night for a week before heading off to Montana to visit M.’s new property in fly-fishing paradise.

I’ve always been one of those people on the plane who, when seeing an adult board with an infant/child, PRAY quite audibly that I hope they don’t sit near me.

Now, I’m going to be one of those parents I wanted to avoid. And what will I do about Sofie’s milk? And how will I change her on the plane? And what if she’s inconsolable? Afterall, she *has* been a little more temperamental the past few days. I’ve been anxious about just going to the store with her, let alone traveling half-way across the country. I got Sofie her own seat in hopes that will help us both be more comfy. And I’m prepared to do battle with any person sitting in front of us who dares to recline their seat back.

Wish I had thought ahead of time to purchase this:

Knee Defender

On the flip side, I’m excited to be initiating her to the world of travel so young. Many adventures await us in far away places, so might as well get her traveling legs in gear.

We’ll be staying with Aunt E. Many thanks to her and Aunt B. for setting up our home away from home, making it comfy for Sofie. And thanks, too, to Aunt J. for meeting and greeting us!

Happy trails to us…
