…And now for my next number…

I had the good fortune to be whisked away by my dear Ks for a day of LA fun on Saturday, 4/28.

First stop was here:

City Cat

Before entering, we hunted and gathered sustenance at Mitsuwa Marketplace (which, according to the mall’s website, is the largest Japanese supermarket in the US):…

…and did some raiding at Sanrio:

FIVE hours later, we emerged hoarse, happy, and hungry. K & K whisked me off to Santa Monica to one of my favorite restaurants:

Border Grill, Santa Monica

Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered it was closed until Monday due to the floor being resurfaced.

Alas, no Pastel Rufina for me. (Nirvana in the form of puff pastry layers, sweetened marscapone-like cream cheese, chocolate chunks, and fresh berries.)

No worries… We headed off to the Promenade, They treated me to some yummy Italian food, and we shopped strolled around.

On the drive home, KL, talking about her other half, quipped a line that will reside in the Hall of Great Quotes for perpetuity

“He *thinks* he’s spontaneous, but he’s really just unprepared.”

I heart my Ks. xoxo
