GP #6: Tanalicious

Sunset Tan

Admitting this guilty pleasure puts me at risk of a visit from Child Protective Services for viewing (and enjoying) such swill with a baby in the abode.

But, were I not to admit it, I would not be keeping true to the task of chronicling my guilty pleasures.

WWTGD? Make it work!

SO can’t wait!  Tim Gunn’s too cool for skool.

(And the new season of the D-List begins tomorrow. Yippeekayay!)

Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style

This excerpt, too, from ETonline.com April 19, 2007:

After just three seasons as “Runway”’s gracious moderator, Tim’s entertainment career is taking off. He’s appeared in guest spots on ABC’s “Ugly Betty,” has been tapped as the chief creative officer for LIZ CLAIBORNE, and tryouts have just begun for his new Bravo TV makeover series, “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style,” which also debuts this summer.

[Regina’s note: I’ve read it premieres July 1, but have not been able to confirm this on Bravo’s website.]

The show is seeking women with a variety of fashion problems to nominate themselves and their friends for the series, which will replace “Queer Eye.” Details on how to enter can be found online at www.BravoTV.com/timgunn.

Tim says he plans to act as a “fashion therapist” to two or three style-challenged folks per show.

“It’s not meant to slap people around and say, ‘You’re no good! And you dress terribly!’” he says. “It will be hands-on, going through their closets and asking, ‘Is this who you are?’”

The show is sort of a companion to his new fashion tome, A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style by Tim and KATE MOLONEY, in bookstores May 1st. He and producers also just wrapped auditions for “Runway”’s fourth season, which will return to Bravo in the fall with Tim on board.

“It is true you have to weed through an awful lot of crap,” he says of the cattle calls (and we were shocked he said “crap” too!). “But it means we’ve found a lot of pearls! We’ve moved about 125 people through to the next level. The talent is there and, as a group, the people have anywhere from six to 15 years of industry experience, and strong points of view.”
