Cleaning house

July 1st, 2007

Spent Saturday cleaning one of our two bathrooms.  I’m the type that takes cotton swabs and toothbrushes to the fixtures, so it takes me forevvvver.  Good thing the motivating ”All Skate” playlist on my iPod is super-long.

Today, I’ve been working on cleaning up my browser favorites.  It’s interesting to see what I once saved, thinking I wanted to be SURE to keep that resource, only to never visit it again.

I did stumble upon this oldie but goodie, which I have since placed on my website for the enjoyment of my gentle readers.  Rediscovering it reminds me… I actually have a viking kittens t-shirt somewhere around here…  Maybe I’ll unearth it when I eventually clean out my closet.  Sigh.

Glad to have hit Weiners and Wine.  Despite the super duper loud music, Sofie was cool as a cucumber, and had lots of admirers.  I had a most excellent weiner with chili, mustard, and onions.  The 2005 Oreana Verdelho went really well with the dawg…  Cool, bright, and sweet, in a rieslingesque sorta way.  Tim went with the 2005 Oreana Pinot Noir, which was firm and fruity.  I look forward to visiting Lettuce B Frank to try the corn pups I passed up at the event.

Oh, and I saw a postcard advert for a Downtown Wine Trolley Tour.  Wendy, where are you when I need you most?!  If the Canucks should kick you out of the country again, you can find refuge with me here, provided you go on the trolley tour with me next week.

Back to weiners…  Is it weiner or wiener?  I thought it was IE but have been writing EI, which kinda bugged me, but that’s how the event folks wrote it.  Well, according to Merriam-Webster Online, either way is correct.  But, considering the etymology is wienerwurst, IE seems a bit more correct.

Ciao for now.
