I'm always appreciative of constructive criticism and being introduced to new things. Natalie's message, however, is neither constructive nor new.

1) Assuming I only purchase music (let alone much anything else) from a multinational conglomorate is, well, you obviously don't know anything about me. Obviously.

And, admittedly, I know nothing about "independant" [sic] music. IndependEnt music, however, is another matter.

2) I did listen to the two, um, artists, in question. As my blog entry states, I <strike>suffered through them</strike> heard them perform a live set. I did not like their music. It is quite safe to say, judging from the grimaces on their faces, most everyone seated around me - no one whom I knew - liked them either.

Guess that means more of 'em for you, Natalie!

BUT, maybe they just suck live? In honor of Natalie, I will give a listen to their recorded music... Perhaps the benefit of post-recording studio wizardry will make the tunes more palatable for me.

* Oh, and actually, I stand corrected. Natalie DID provide something new. I want to thank her for the "kangaroo short of a paddock" comment. I'll keep that one in my arsenal of quips.

So, yeah. Thanks.

Well, I think you might be a" kangaroo short of a paddock" to not know who Victoria Williams or M.Ward are, both are internationally reknowned and toured artists.

But maybe if you purchase your music from another place rather than a multi-national conglomerate you may discover there are some amazing artists out there on independant labels.

Go visit your local record store, you might shock yourself!

Then get on the net and check out M.Ward and Victoria Williams and have a listen to their music. You might surprise yourself.
