Swedish style, part två
Swedish style seems to be all around me today. First, it was Swedish stylin’ pee and poo, as seen in my previous post. Now, I just saw this in a DWR email.
It’s purrrrdy.
It reminds me of Voss, a delicious Norwegian water. Initially seduced by the bottle design 7 years ago, it quickly became one of my favorites upon tasting it. (I used to have to special order it; it is now wonderfully widely available.) The bottle’s designer, Neil Kraft (formerly of Calvin Klein), was inspired by the fragrance industry’s bottling aesthetic.
Other great Swedish exports, off the top of my head:
- Josef Frank (although, technically, he was Austrian)
- IKEA (duh!)
- Swedish meatballs (double duh!)
- Greta Garbo
- Swedish fish
- the I. Bergmans
- Swedese (Tube sofa… drool…)
- Swedish massage (ahh…)
- Daim bars (mmm…)
- Pippi Longstocking
- ABBA (Scoff, if you must. I hold my head proud.)
- Smorgasbords (mmm to the nth degree)
No doubt, my friend, Google, would remind and inform me of many more things from our Swedish friends.
Good stuff there. I guess some (stylish) pee and poo is a small price to pay for the veritable smorgasbord of other Swedish delights.
