Resurrection
Wow. What a week.
Last Saturday, as I sat to start working on my computer, I completely emptied my just-filled glass of water all over my keyboard and Intuos tablet! I literally had to turn them upside-down to pour the water out. Both stopped working. After some finageling, I got my keyboard to work again, but I was not so lucky with my tablet.
At the time of the drowning, both were plugged into my computer. I worry I may have shorted something in my tablet. Anyway, after trying to resuscitate it, totally stressed out, I realized all I could do was open it up, let it dry out for a few days, and hope for the best. I was SO stressed by this point, I asked Tim if he would open the case for me because I was in desperate need to go out, take a break and get some coffee.
(Wish me well, as I attempt to plug in my tablet on Friday to determine whether or not it’s a goner.)
Then came Sunday. Late that night. I should’ve just gone to bed, but I still had some energy in me and figured I’d perform the latest (required) Wordpress.org upgrade to my blog.
It sucked. All of my files continued to appear in my dashboard and database, but at my blog’s website, all that would appear were blank pages.
Pleas to the support forums on WP.org went unanswered. Apparently, others have found themselves in similar predicaments.
I tried backtracking and reloading my backed up files, but still no luck.
Then, yesterday, after some back and forth, I was finally able to have my host provider overwrite my blog folder with their backup from early Sunday.
During the days it was down, there was SO much I felt compelled to note… Nothing of any significance, other than I found it noteworthy. I felt totally muzzled. And I found it odd that I felt this way, considering I’ve not been keeping my blog for very long now.
Perhaps my blog should be added to my compilation of guilty pleasures.
In the meantime, between trying to work from home while simultaneously trying to watch Sofie, I distracted myself from my stress and woes by working on a poster… an entry for the 21st Annual California Avocado Festival. Progress on it mostly occurred after midnight Tuesday and Wednesday. The deadline is tomorrow, so I’ll be driving to Carpinteria to drop it off. I think it came out pretty good. We shall see.
Well, without further ado, allow me to get started littering the interweb with my regurgitation of stuff that captured my attention this past week. Onward, post!
