Another drop in the glass…

Dropped off my poster.  Was glad to see someone else was in there before me, trying to turn in her painting.  She was trying to figure out how to scan it.  (It was BIG.)  Anyway, I was glad to see it because, well, I’ll just say I felt better about the chances for mine.  (That’s not what I originally wrote, but I don’t want karma to come back and bite me.)  Props for painting it though… I guess.

AND, I was successful in my search for the Choctal ice cream.  I picked up the Pure Ghana Chocolate to try first.  It had me at “…undertone of sweet fudge in the back note.”  I realize what I really need to do is simultaneously get one of each and have a tasting with some friends.

So, this post is primarily because I forgot to mention this in my week-half-full entry.  It totally cracked me up when I first read it, and I just had to share.

 This guy blogged about an SB beer tasting roadtrip he and some buddies undertook.  I didn’t totally agree with his assessment of everything, but respect him for embarking upon the adventure.

The best - and most noteworthy - part was his review of Chilango’s.  I must mention that I get sick 95% of the time I have a burrito from there.  (Well, the UCSB location, anyway.)

The photo is priceless.

P.S. If you consider getting a bite to eat at Chilango’s next door, avoid the veggie burrito: it comes in a green spinach tortilla and includes raw slices of carrots. Que asco!

Bonne chance!

I was about to say I really love getting a good bargain, and I especially love getting free stuff.  While that’s true, well, I mean, duh, who DOESN’T?!

So, I’ve gotten lucky and scored a few free things from Allure Mag’s monthly free stuff giveaways.  The first few days of each month, they have free stuff offers for the first x number of people who register.

Come August, however, it’s free stuff every day. Really, really good stuff.  Really.
