A day wrapped up in a pretty white bow.
Karen and I went to the opening party for the new Tiffany store this afternoon. While it turned out to not be as exclusive an event as I had anticipated (totally PACKED!), it was nonetheless a lot of fun. We were there for nearly 2 hours, ooohing and ahhhing, trying on baubles, purchasing baubles (it was Karen’s birthday, afterall), drinking endless champagne, savoring chocolate dipped strawberries and petit fours that were decorated to resemble Tiffany jewel boxes: Tiffany Blue frosted squares wrapped in a white frosting bow.
I couldn’t resist procuring the Knots necklace, pictured above. (YOU try resisting 3 glasses of champagne (+ 1 sauvignon blanc) later!) It reflects my modern aesthetic, and it matched my blouse so nicely.
Karen fared really well, too. Her sweetie, Hugh, generously gave her some cold hard cash to pick out something pretty for her special day. Yay, Hugh!
Mind you, we are certainly not so decadent on a regular basis. We thoroughly appreciated our good fortune, right down to the sobering pizza and pasta we had post booze binge.
Heck, even Oprah was decadent today with her favorite things show. Did y’all see that fridge with the built in tv and dvd player? That sucka was off the hook!

Happy birthday, Karen! <3

Happy 26th birthday to my Karenina. I heart you like a sister, and am grateful that you are in my life.
(I noted your age since you look like you’re 12 in this photo. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that you’re wearing a dress made for a 12 year old.)
:)
