A random journey through my email today…
Elysia: 12/29/07:
I’ve removed my account of El’s email since, unfortunately, it appears someone out there has been a little too interested in reading this - and not in a positive way. I know said person already read it (over and over), but still. No sense leaving the honey out for the bear. (And, yes, being a professional webmaster, I know who it is.)
**************

Martini Maker: Dude, this is just stupid. C’mon… $99 to save some lazy lush the trouble of flexing their biceps and triceps a few times? (The pic is from Linens-n-Things, but I also saw it just yesterday in my Neiman Marcus catalog.)
**************
Dough-Nu-Matic: As long as we’re on the subject of “WHO would possibly buy that thing?,” check out this gizmo.
The Dough-Nu-Matic automatically forms, fries and drains delectable mini-doughnuts in just 50 seconds!
Hours and hours… and pounds and pounds… of endless enjoyment.
**************
Loop & Leaf: Yarn and tea… What a lovely combination. I look forward to checking out this new spot. (It’s been waaaaay tooooo long since I’ve knitted. sigh.)
**************
Obsidian Dawn: the amazingly talented and generous Stephanie shares her wisdom with her latest tutorial: Paths in Photoshop. If you’ve never visited her site and you’re a Photoshop brush and pattern junkie, you’ll totally want to check it out and download her plugins. While there, suscribe for her regular email updates chock full o’ great tools, tips, and new plugin announcements.
**************
CRAFT: I can’t wait to get the latest issue in my mailbox. It’s all about creative gift wrapping. As a kid, every Christmas, my Mom would set up the dining room table as a gift wrapping assembly line. Me and my sisters totally got into it, making bows by hand and finger knitting ribbons. (Does anyone remember finger knitting?) I remember making pom poms by hand, slicing ice cream cones in half and composing “ice cream (pom pom) cones” on top of packages. I’d just go wherever my imagination took me.
As a grown up, I’ve been known to sew wrap (fabric, suede, or paper) around gifts; wrap things up “soap opera” style where one just lifts off the top (wrapping intact); wrap packages up in paper I’ve made; shred newspaper into fine strips, culling a big handful in a spaghetti noodle-like bunch and wrapping them around packages in place of ribbon (colorful and whimsical); decorating packages with leaves and moss;…
I’m also totally excited about the baby legwarmer pattern!
**************
Tooth Tunes: Is it wrong that I want this?
**************
Moddelfiguren: Notcot hipped me to this today. Why do I love these so?
**************
**************
FOOEY: They’re having a holiday sale. (Isn’t everyone?) But I really like Fooey, and have been happy with everything I’ve gotten for Sofie, including the above print (as a onesie). I love that they bring urban street aesthetics to little ones. And big ones, too. In fact, while I’m SO not about matching my clothes with my kid’s, I couldn’t resist getting both me and Sofie this thermal t-shirt. (It was while Sofie was still in the NICU last year, and one of the few Sofie-things I purchased during that time, allowing myself to dream about “someday.”)
**************
Mahar Drygoods: I L-O-V-E the green Chick Chair! And check out those Elf Slippers! Why oh why do they not make them to fit grownups? :(

So the donut maker is just $129.99, you say? And it spits out donuts in just 50 seconds.
You know, I’m just asking.
Did you ever get your Craft magazine? I brought it with me here. I *love* paper.
No, I haven’t gotten mine yet! I’m getting really frustrated with those folks… It seems I get my issues waaaay after it’s already been available on the newsstand. And you’re all the way in Canada and still get yours before mine! I’m a gonna write ‘em a letter, and it ain’t gonna be no love letter.
Aww… thank you so much for your kind words about my brushes and website! *hug* I appreciate it. :)
