Drumroll, please…

February 2nd, 2008

I first want to heartily express my appreciation for those who took the time to indulge me and my silly little toothbrush haiku contest! Yay for you!

Now, for the winner…

So, the winner was chosen because I liked the haiku and because he adhered to the following instructions:

Your comment must include a haiku that is composed of three lines where the first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and the third line has 5 syllables.

EXISTENTIALIST!

O Brusher of Teeth,
Brusher that makes my teeth white,
Sing the tooth song. Sing.

He will receive the coveted U Can’t Touch This toothbrush. I say coveted because it took me all month to find another one. This thing wasn’t anywhere to be found: not the vendor’s own site, nor on Amazon, nor on eBay. Nowhere. Nada. But then, in the 11th hour, my pal, Robert, unearthed one in the warehouse in the back of the drug store which he assistant manages. Yay, Roberto!

But I did love them all… the ominous tone of El Chavo!’s haiku; the bouncing joy of Cheryl’s; MamaGeek’s to-the-point, taking care of business style.

Unfortunately, I barely managed to find another one of the toothbrushes (I guess U really can’t touch this!), otherwise, I’d send one to each of you.

I did, however, manage to acquire one that plays Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” So, after putting the remaining names in the proverbial hat, I picked one at random to receive it: El Chavo!

Thanks SO MUCH, again, everyone!
